Are you Sad? Happy? Euphorically in love? Getting married? Or just in the need of a sad or love happy hymn?
I love these hymns of great sadness or happiness and there are also quite a few which can express both extremities. I wanted to share my collection of tunes about love and lost love, and I have made a collection for you to enjoy. Once in a while I will present a song or a band more in detail. Meanwhile you can find my Sound of (Indie) Love and Lost Love at Spotify, where it will updated on a somewhat regular basis.
The beginning
The first song I added to this collection of songs was the fabulous song “First Day of My Life”, by the band “Bright Eyes”. This band is a traditional Indie Rock band led by singer-songwriter Conor Oberst. Conor has contributed to a long list of bands; Commander Venus and Monsters of Folk being my two favorites.

The entire lyrics of “First Day of My Life” is enjoyable, and this song has a very personal meaning to me. It is one of the songs I played and sang for my wife at our wedding and at the wedding party a few weeks after the wedding!
