You should know by now that I am a sucker for sad songs that brings out despair and tristesse. “Arcane” is a captivating animated television series by Netflix originating from Riot Games’ “League of Legends.” The series introduces viewers to the twin cities of Piltover and Zaun, an enchanting world teeming with intricate characters, a deeply gripping narrative and beautiful animations.

These two cities, separated by a vast chasm of social and economic disparity, set the stage for a tale of ambition, loss, and the haunting echoes of what could have been.

Accompanying the evocative narrative of “Arcane” is a mesmerising soundscape that breathes life into the TV series. Among its treasures is a song that has resonated with many, a soul-stirring lament of love lost and the bitter sting of regret. This song, with its poignant lyrics, “I am your ghost, a fallen angel…I hope you know we had everything…I want you to hurt like you hurt me today…What could have been,” encapsulates the anguish of a love torn asunder and the haunting spectre of a future that will never come to pass.
